Pooled Storage

Pooled Storage means all your users storage brought together…and shared out based on usage. With Pooled Storage, your total storage limit is the maximum amount of storage all of your users have access to. E.g 10 users each at 30 GB means your total pooled storage will be 300 GB. By pooling your storage, you can allocate storage in a dynamic way, based on usage. Heavy users of storage can have more than 30 GB and vice versa for light users.

Shared Drive

Shared Drives are special drive folders that belong to the team/organisation instead of an individual. Even if team members leave, the files stay in the shared drive that was created. This allows the company to keep intellectual property and continue sharing information from anywhere in real time.

Shared drives are powerful collaboration tools that allow you to create shared spaces where team members can store, search, and collaborate seamlessly.

Will I incur an extra cost?No. Only standard prices for licenses apply based on the edition of Google Workspace you're on.

What is the difference between Google Drive and Google One?Formerly known as Paid Google Drive Storage, Google One is Google's cloud storage service that's been around since 2018. Signing up for a Google One membership gets you 100GB of space to use across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos for $2 a month. You'll also get access to a number of other features, like automatic backup for your Android device's photos, messages and contacts.

Google One isn't available for Workspace Accounts. It's only available for personal Google Account.
